Ownership is the New Black

Out of a shared vision and heart for a more equitable and secure future for the next generation of Black Americans, we partnered with Derek Minor, a Nashville-based rapper and record label owner, to dream up a new narrative shifting campaign.

Ownership is the New Black was created to address the wealth gap and promote Black ownership through storytelling, the arts, and advocacy. The Ownership team is currently working toward a national concert and storytelling tour and a creative capital incentivized financial literacy app. 

Strategic Partnerships & Fundraising.

We have built relationships and coached meetings with impact investors, philanthropic organizations, and corporation executives to pitch the Ownership model and explore synergy with existing social responsibility goals. 

Campaign Building.

We have supported all parts of the campaign building process, including business development, brand and social media strategy, and narrative building. 

Policy Advising.

We assessed current and proposed legislation to find policies that decrease the wealth gap and have bipartisan support, and created a strategy for using the Ownership platform to advocate for legislation. We also set up meetings with the Ownership impact ambassadors on Capitol Hill with the White House, congressional staff, and policy experts.
